FAQs

What is FORMA: Biológica?

FORMA is a two-night curated cultural activation during Fiesta San Antonio. It is not a street party, a concert, or a conference. It is a deliberately designed gathering for San Antonio's creative community — architects, designers, artists, technologists, and the people working alongside them. The theme, Biológica, explores the intersection of nature, technology, and built form through generative projection mapping, curated music, and the kind of conversation that happens when the right people are in the same room.

Why during Fiesta?

Fiesta is when San Antonio shows up for the culture. We wanted to build something that honored that energy while offering a different kind of experience — intentional, design-forward, and worth remembering. Earth Day falls three days before Night 1. AI April SA runs all month. The timing is intentional.

Who is this for?

Architects. Designers. Artists. Technologists. Creative directors. Developers. The clients that want to find them. People who care about what San Antonio is becoming and want to be part of building it. If that sounds like you, it is for you.

Who is producing this?

FORMA is produced by United by Design (UXD) — a cultural strategy and experiential art practice based in Houston and San Antonio. Projection mapping and AV by Texas AVL. Projection content by generative artist Diego Chavez. Music programmed through Anthony Martinez of Sun River Jazz Club.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are available through Luma. Night 1 and Night 2 are sold separately. GA and VIP tiers are available for both nights. Links are at the top of this page.

What is the difference between GA and VIP?

General Admission gets you in the door — full access to the courtyard, projection, bar, and music. VIP includes priority entry, dedicated space, a closer position to the projection surface, and access to an exclusive panel exploring the intersection of nature and technology with leading innovators from architecture, design, and tech. Both are the same event. VIP is for the people who want to go deeper in it. Panel speakers to be announced.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

No. This is a capacity-controlled event — 300 people per night. When it sells out, it is sold out. We strongly recommend purchasing in advance.

Is this a 21+ event?

Yes. Full bar on site both nights. Valid ID required at entry.

What is the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable. If you cannot attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else through Luma. if for some reason the event is cancelled, it will be rescheduled with priority notifications going to ticket holders. In some cases, refunds are possible

Where is Form Studios?

500 6th Street, San Antonio TX 78215. In Southtown, a few blocks from the River Walk. Street parking is available in the surrounding area. Rideshare drop-off on 6th Street.

Is the event indoors or outdoors?

The event takes place in the outdoor courtyard at Form Studios. The projection mapping is on the exterior masonry walls of the building. Dress for the weather — San Antonio in late April is typically warm in the evening.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. The courtyard is ground-level and accessible. If you have specific accessibility needs, reach out to us directly at hello@weareuxd.com and we will make sure you are taken care of.

Is there parking?

Street parking is available on 6th Street and the surrounding blocks. We recommend rideshare for both nights — Fiesta weekend means the neighborhood is active and parking fills quickly.

What is projection mapping?

Projection mapping is the process of using specialized software and projectors to turn any surface — in this case, the exterior masonry walls of Form Studios — into a dynamic visual canvas. The building does not change. The light transforms it. Texas AVL is one of the best in the country at doing this. Diego Chavez is generating the content specifically for these walls and this theme.

What is the music program?

Night 1 is a DJ set — deep, intentional, moving. Night 2 brings a live performance alongside the decks. Both nights are programmed through Anthony Martinez of River Sun Jazz Club. Full lineup announced closer to the event.

Is there food and drink?

Full bar both nights, operated by Anthony Martinez and Sun River Jazz Club. Food vendor on site. Cash and card accepted.

What is the panel program?

FORMA: Biológica will open with a curated conversation — a moderated panel bringing together voices from architecture, generative art, and technology around the themes of the event. Details and speakers will be announced in the weeks ahead.

How do I become a partner or sponsor?

Read the Partnership section of this site. If the language resonates, send us a note at hello@weareuxd.com. We are not running a formal RFP process. We are looking for the right fit, not the fastest response.

I represent a brand. How do I know if FORMA is the right fit for us?

Ask yourself whether your organization has something honest to contribute to a room full of architects, designers, artists, and technologists — not a sales pitch, but a genuine point of view. If the answer is yes, reach out. If you are not sure, read the Partnership section again and sit with it.

Will there be photography and video at the event?

Yes. Both nights will be documented. By attending, you consent to being photographed or filmed as part of the event record. If you have concerns, reach out in advance.

Can I take photos and video as an attendee?

Yes please! Share what you experience. Tag @_forma_fest and use #FORMAFEST. We want the effects to be felt beyond the night.

I am a member of the press or media. How do I request credentials?

Email hello@weareuxd.com with your outlet and what you are working on. We will get back to you directly.
